Proline Rich Protein 11 (PRR11)

Proline-rich proteins (PRPs) is a class of intrinsically unstructured proteins (IUP) containing several repeats of a short proline-rich sequence.PRR11 is expressed at high level, 2.2 times the average gene in this release. PRR11 contains 18 different introns (17 gt-ag, 1 gc-ag). Transcription produces 10 alternatively spliced mRNAs. There are 5 non overlapping alternative last exons and 2 validated alternative polyadenylation sites. The mRNAs appear to differ by truncation of the 3""" end, presence or absence of 11 cassette exons, overlapping exons with different boundaries, alternative splicing or retention of 4 introns. 57 bp of this gene are antisense to spliced gene FAM33A, raising the possibility of regulated alternate expression.
